Powerful commentary that with minor editing could be describing what life holds in many Western countries.

I fear that the powers to be in my neck of the woods aspire to even greater injustices.

yep, thats right. Good summary.

And you didn't even get to the planned eugenics of the war on carers and disabled people, making evryone so miserable they will choose to die when offered the chance. Just like Canada.

The Labour party getting a massive majority is terrifying.

Wow, that's a powerful and precise analysis of the imperilled UK, it has no future. Frustratingly the media and political voices continue as if it's business as usual when it is so clearly not.

The world crisis of what many call 'end-stage capitalism' necessitates species-wide change starting with a permanent revolution of the international working class, led from the grassroots of society by a party of and for the working class that educates society as to the need for permanent revolution, looking at the historical precedents for such and which makes accessible the teachings of the world's most insightful socialists so that we can then set about the multi-generational endeavour of using the Earth's resources as the common heritage of all mankind as exemplified in the concept of a resource based economy. The rise in fascism is a global phenomenon and is also well under way across Europe and the EU, with preparations for global war taking precedence over people's lives. A small correction: there were food banks in the UK prior to 2010 but in much smaller numbers. https://rgs-ibg.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/tran.12535

What's happening in America is not dissimilar. Britain should serve as an object lesson, but it won't. We're on a similar path, and the crushing realities of the climate crisis all but guarantee the destruction of whatever civilized society we have, which in actuality has been brutish from the beginning for those who have their eyes open.

The result of 200 years of collectivism, or, if you prefer, statism. Which is an ideological excuse for the brutal proposition that one man’s life is another man’s property-all in the name of benevolence. This kind of power is disgusting to the elevated character but irresistible to the debased character. Should we be surprised at the results?

Probably worth mentioning that Britain is not even getting fighter jets and bombs out of it - the 2.5% is all PR and no impact.

Totally pointless suicide for the sake of "market values".

Sorry, this was an answer to Grumpy Dragon's commentary

Is there a debate about assisted suicide in the UK? Are you referring to that, if I may ask? I'm very interested in this topic. And would you thus agree that there is an economic pressure for disabled individuals to go for assisted suicide? Assisted suicide as a form of "social politics"? Thank you.

You have described the revolution

An excellent acrticle that explains the sinister nature of neoliberalism and the passively oppressive system we live under. Thatcher started it & these bastards turbo-boosted it.

Spot on. What I don’t understand is why people still vote Tory, of the blue or red variety.

Sadly, all too true. The waiting time in A&E is even worse, ambulances with their patients are waiting outside until there is a place for that patient, so cannot go to another patient.

The WASPI women still haven’t been compensated, a friend of mine being one of them.

And nothing will change 😢
