My article about Greta Thunberg created a bit of stir on Twitter especially amongst liberals who couldn’t bear to be confronted with their depraved politics and gutter morality.
For those of you who signed up on the basis of that article (and there’s a fair few of you), welcome. You’ll be pleased to know there is a back catalogue of me dragging liberals for their degeneracy and this will continue to be a common theme going forward. Liberals say that a lot don’t they?
Anyway the most common retort to the article was ‘well done you figured out liberals and leftists have different politics.’ A liberal account by the name of Ben Dreyfuss with nearly one hundred thousand followers quote tweeted it entirely with the letters hahahahahaha and followed it up with this spectacular insight.
This Dreyfuss guy probably thought this was a clever gotcha and you could perhaps think that for a nanosecond until you realise the ‘cause’ in question, of course, is genocide. I mean, I suppose it is a cause, in the sense that you can be for that cause or against that cause. And hundreds of liberals who liked and commented on this tweet were essentially saying lol haha of course we’re pro-genocide lol haha.
In the words of that much abused meme, they admit it.
Other crashing out libs rationalised their dislike for this version of Thunberg by saying that she abandoned them or abandoned her original cause, which they supported more. Obviously she did nothing of the sort. She just maintained a consistent moral line about mass death being a bad thing that should be opposed.
These same people would almost certainly have described themselves as anti-genocide before Gaza. But their allegiance to the imperium over-rides their feelings or concerns about the mass slaughter of hundreds of thousands of people, IF, and this is a very crucial if, these people are being killed for imperial interests.
Man I hate liberals or centrists or twats. However you want to refer to them. As I’ve mentioned before, at least with the far-right you know you’re dealing with Nazis and white nationalists. Liberals who wrap themselves in the pride flag and talk of inclusion and progress and then go silent when it’s time to oppose genocide are scum. It’s actually difficult to fathom their politics. It’s the politics of anti-politics. An anti-change (let alone anti-revolutionary politics) of the status quo. And by the way, if the status quo does start shifting towards fascism they’ve got some caveats about the accountancy standards behind the fascism, but they’re basically fine with it.
This was the sentiment voiced by well-known American liberal, anti-Trump, Democratic intelligentsia guy Armand Domalewski this week. In a tweet Domalewski wondered how ICE had spent so much money and not juiced those deportation numbers at all.
What sort of fascism do you get for your money these days!? If we have to have fascism it should at least be COST EFFECTIVE. (His friend David, and this sounds like a joke, confirmed that deportation productivity had fallen in recent months).
Also spotted on the lib watch beat this week was this headline from The Guardian.
Would it have killed them to have put ‘of Palestinians’ after ‘killed tens of thousands?’ They made it sound like a conventional war with about average casualties on either side and not A GENOCIDE. This need to always give equal weight to both sides is an infuriating liberal characteristic. And Israelis and Palestinians share mixed feelings? It sounds like they sat each side down and asked them to review the latest Taylor Swift album. And share? One set of people suffered a genocide. The other set of people largely supported their government in committing that genocide.
Fucking liberals man.
And yes, it was a genocide. Almost every genocide and holocaust expert has labelled it as such. The UN has called it a genocide, as has every human rights organisation. But many, liberals and right-wing alike, cast doubt or openly deny this conclusion. Well this week we just had what amounts to a genocide smoking gun. The legacy media of course didn’t cover it. But it was hugely consequential. A team of investigative journalists discovered that Israel used images from a random cyberpunk sci-fi art project and the Scottish Maritime Museum to create fake animations of Hamas tunnels and other supposed ‘terrorist infrastructure’ in Gaza. One of the most infamous, the alleged underground command centre at Al-Shifa Hospital, was actually an animation the IDF had used the previous year when they said it was a tunnel beneath a UN school.
This should be huge global breaking news, because it clearly reveals genocidal intent. Why fake the existence of Hamas tunnels in places they knew there weren’t any? Because it was essential to legitimising the war crimes and the mass murders they were planning, mass murders in civilian locations conducted with zero military objective. The revelation undercuts everything Israel said about why it needed to invade hospitals and schools and level Gaza to the ground. And this is why you won’t see any headlines.
For now thankfully, the genocide has stopped. And we must desperately hope this ceasefire holds. But I’m not hopeful. Israel hasn’t ceased fire in its entire history. The history of Israel is a history of mass murder on whatever pretext they decide to use. Look at the West Bank, where over 900 Palestinians have been murdered since October 2023, thousands of homes bulldozed and olive groves destroyed. Look at Lebanon, where a ceasefire is breached almost daily. Israel’s goal, generation after generation since 1948, has been to deny the Palestinians a homeland and use strategic moments of opportunity to carry out ethnic cleansing and land grabs. Talking of land grabs, the 20-point Trump plan, with its constant references to Israel’s ‘line’ in Gaza looks more like a blueprint for a land grab than an honest attempt at a secure future for the Palestinians.
That said there are reasons for hope. Israel is struggling economically and its reputation is in the bin. And we have to make sure this ceasefire doesn’t aid its restoration. A key part of the work then is to deepen anti-Israel sentiment so the winning electoral position is no longer pro-Zionism, but anti-Zionism, and prospective politicians start getting selected, and elected, on that basis.
One thing I am sure about though is that if this anti-Zionist future is ever to come to pass, it will be no thanks to pro-genocide liberals.

I know this isn't about The Smiths per se, but Morrissey usefully claims that those who "rain abuse" on Israel do so because they're / we're "jealous" of it.
