I have Iranian friends, who I like and respect. They don’t like the current regime but want change via elections. I also have friends from countries bordering Iran – they like Iranians. Oddly, they, like me, are somewhat conservative (with a small c) but also very much have a “live & let live” attitude, as opposed to Israel and the USA which seem to be in the “die, die, die, die” camp.

Cybernetics: actions lead to reactions. Had “the west” not supported Iraq in its war against Iran, I am confident that the Republican Guard would not have developed the way it did, nor would there have been an inclination to support shias in other middle east locations.

In my library, I have C.V Wedgewood’s “The 30 years War”. The last two pages are amongst the most pertinent ever written on conflict. It is possible (unlikely) that some in the US gov’ may even have read them. What is clear is that humanity has learned NOTHING since the words were written in… the early 1930s: "war only breeds war".
