Exactly, Nate. I am sick and tired of people arguing about “Israel’s right to exist”

People have a right to exist; states don’t.

And the notion of borders/states is made up..

It gets irritating when people dwell on nationalism…

National pride is State-sanctioned bigotry. Nations are a logical extension of property rights from the point of view of the landlords or property owners. Another fantasy that allows some kinds of legal interpersonal violence.

You are most certainly not the only one...I follow Bandy X Lee, a forensic psychiatrist and president of the World Mental Health Coalition. She has what she terms is A Curriculum for One World or None and back some months ago she wrote about nation states "The rise of the nation-state in the aftermath of Treaty of Westphalia in 1648, fundamentally undermined global unity in the modern era. Certainly, there were divisions in the past, but the creation of nation-states—delineated by territorial borders, distinct cultural identities, and centralized political powers—shifted us from an interconnected global community into fragmented and competitive, sovereign entities." I appreciate your writing and perhaps you would find validation and community in Dr Lee's writings and her weekly Zoom group (Fridays at noon) for paid subscribers to her Substack...All the best to you...

Of course you are not the only one, Nate. We've got to end nationalism.

International solidarity will follow if we organize on the basis of a socialist economic system (which exists to support humanity NOT profits). That has to be the goal.

Yes, in classical Yoga, we talk of all the structure that has been put in our lives that are meant to "control", e.g behaviour norms, "normality", "perfection", "borders", "fines", "boundary" , "countries" , "religion" etc at the very essence of being all of us are born a "free unstructured" human that is *one* with nature which is what meditation's purpose is. This idea is difficult to grasp by so many as it's been classified as "alternative" or a "conspiracy" etc. one day I will write a longer blog on my substack. Very interesting article, thanks.

Very interesting and relevant article. As someone who identifies as 'Scottish' I've pondered over the nationalist question. Also I've just put out a piece that touches on the issue you raise from an environmental perspective: https://shadowlightblog.substack.com/p/geoengineering-another-false-solution

"The Importance Of The Individual" is a concept that will become more and more relevant as we traverse the next couple decades.

I certainly agree with your premise! The notion of nation states seems so deeply embraced by so many, though. Years ago, I read a piece that proposed that there are two basic kinds of humans: those who divide the world into their tribe, relatives, or family and everyone else; or those who see all humanity as their relatives. I think that may be too simplistic, but nonetheless, there does seem to be an essential kernel of truth to it.
